Course Level
For people with English at or above Entry 3 or B1, who want to improve communication in English for work in elderly care.
Course Details
A 6-week course to develop confidence and apply skills in using effective communication when working in elderly care. It will develop knowledge of different care settings and include input from NHS and care professionals, as well as safeguarding content, dementia awareness and interview practice.
Students will:
- Learn to use professional language in a range of ‘real life’ care situations.
- Learn to make conversation and build respectful relationships with clients, including those living with dementia
- Develop sector-specific vocabulary and cultural awareness in the context of care and hospital work.
