We offer a dedicated Work Club and Employment Advice service that provides clients with a range of support services to assist them in their job searching and with in work support. We can assist with the practicalities of looking for work and completing application forms, be that for someone who is currently looking for work or someone who is looking to change jobs, as well as assisting people to plan and research their future options.
The Work Club is open every Wednesday morning from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
Our team of Work Club volunteers work one to one with individual clients to search for suitable jobs, as well as assisting them with completing application forms. We can also assist with researching the skills and qualifications needed for particular roles, identifying relevant training courses and looking for volunteering opportunities.
Additionally, we are supported on Wednesday mornings by a partner organisation who specialise in helping prepare CVs and cover letters for clients.
We offer employment advice appointments on Wednesday afternoons and Fridays.
As well as assisting clients who need additional help in applying for jobs, we offer more in-depth support for clients in these appointments. This may be supporting clients who wish to obtain a SIA (security) licence or private hire driver licence, those who are considering self-employment, individuals who need in work support or people who need more detailed advice about a particular career path.
We can also assist with interview preparation, liaison with NARIC (to get overseas qualifications recognised) and queries around childcare support.
