ESOL Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Volunteers wanted for CLEAR (City Life Education and Action for Refugees)
Your role will be to support the learning of adults attending ESOL classes and to assist with the running of the class, working collaboratively and under the direction of a tutor. The role of our LSA team is to help learners understand tasks and to support them in trying to complete them. CLEAR runs four classes (Pre-entry-Entry 3) with a class size of 17 maximum with LSA support. A regular commitment of 2 hours per week in classroom plus setting up and packing down time is required. Classes are held on weekdays in the city centre. Expenses including mileage can be paid and free parking is usually available. Prefer experience of working within an education setting with adults or young people, excellent English language skills (Level 2 or equivalent) and computer literacy. The role would suit someone who works well in a team, has excellent communication skills and is patient and encouraging with learners.
