Employment Service

In the current climate everyone needs all the help they can get with looking for work. Here at CLEAR we run an employment service which is designed to give our clients as much support as possible with their job search, whether they are in work and looking to move on, out of work and looking for the job that will get them working, or wish to start their own business.
CLEAR’s employment service consists of:

  • The Work Club which is open every Wednesday morning. Here clients will receive help to search and apply for jobs, access to computers and phones, help with application forms and much more. One to one support is available if required.
  • One to one appointments. This is for clients who need a little more in depth support for example help making a CV from scratch, thinking through what job they would like, preparing for an interview or taking part in a mock interview. Please phone the CLEAR office on 023 8022 1111 to make an appointment.
  • Training courses to meet client needs. For example last year we ran Telephone Training with ESOL to help clients prepare to use the phone to apply for a job. Details of any future courses will be posted here

Case Study

Miss M came to the UK in February. She had never been to the UK before but spoke good English. She came to the employment service to get help with understanding the UK employment market, preparing a CV, applying for jobs and support with applications. She managed to secure a couple of interviews for work in the care sector and she received support with interview preparation. She attended the interviews and was offered a job in May subject to a clear DBS check. As soon as this came through she started work as a support worker in a home for young people with severe autism and is very happy in her new job.
